MISSION STATEMENT: We are dedicated to increasing each driver's ability to avoid accidents. We focus on each student’s driving skills while teaching basic but important life-saving maneuvers through repetition. Our goal is to train each student on the defensive driving skills needed when a normal driving condition changes into an emergency driving condition, so that every trip will ultimately end at home, safe!

A Message from Norman Hamden, Co-founder and Lead Instructor

Personally knowing family and friends of all ages who have been injured or lost their lives in auto accidents, I co-founded Team Safety Driving School (TSDS) to share my professional knowledge and experience to help drivers learn the art of defensive driving.

When working as a defensive driving instructor, I am constantly amazed at the progress shown by novices as well as experienced drivers over the course of one day. I’ve seen students that have never driven or had less than a day or two of driving experience transform into confident, safer drivers. With the hands-on experience our school provides, they can feel the dynamics of their own car at maximum traction levels.

I know that the students who complete our course leave as better drivers and will ultimately lower the now high risk of injury or death. The statistics on teen driving are deplorable – 4,000 to 6,000 deaths per year with more than 350,000 injuries. If we can alter those statistics even a little, then we have succeeded, "One teen at a time.”

Safe travels,

TSDS Newsflash

Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of teen fatalities. Statistics site as many as 4,000 to 6,000 teens die every year (depending on the source) as a result of car crashes. That would be approximately 16 deaths every day!
